Veterinarians Without Borders North America launches Spring Match campaign to expand access to veterinary care

Posted May 6th, 2026 in Country, Media Releases, News

OTTAWA, ON – May 6, 2026Veterinarians Without Borders North America / Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Amérique du Nord (VWB/VSF) has launched its Spring Match campaign, inviting supporters to help bring veterinary care within reach for animals and communities around the world. From May 6 through June 17, every dollar donated will be doubled, up to $24,000, thanks to the generous support of Zoetis.

Across many of the regions where VWB/VSF works — including Northern Canada, Ukraine, Ghana, and Kenya — animals are part of daily life. They protect homes, support livelihoods, and live in close connection with the people around them. Yet in many of these communities, access to veterinary care remains limited or inconsistent.

“When veterinary care is not within reach, even treatable conditions can become serious,” said Janine Mitchell, Executive Director of VWB/VSF. “This campaign is about helping ensure that care can reach animals when and where it is needed — before small issues become life-threatening.”

Whether through mobile veterinary clinics in remote Northern communities, emergency response in conflict-affected regions of Ukraine, or community-based animal health support in Africa and Asia, each matched gift helps deliver care where it is needed most.

This year’s Spring Match campaign highlights the importance of timely access to veterinary care, and the role it plays in protecting both animal health and community well-being. Donations will support veterinary teams working alongside local partners to provide treatment, prevention, and essential supplies to animals who might otherwise go without care.

“At Zoetis, we believe animal health is inseparable from human wellbeing. Veterinarians Without Borders embodies that belief every day by delivering veterinary care where it’s needed most and empowering communities through sustainable animal health solutions,” said Stevan Agbaba, RVT, Regional Business Manager, Central Canada, Zoetis. “We are proud to support their mission and the meaningful, lasting impact they create around the world.”

The campaign runs until June 17, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET.
