For two decades, Veterinarians Without Borders (VWB) has been creating a healthier world for animals, people, and the planet. This December 2nd, we’re inviting you to join us for a special online celebration as we mark 20 years of One Health in action — and honour the volunteers, partners, and supporters who made it all possible.

An Evening of Stories, Connection, and Celebration

From our early beginnings at a borrowed desk at the University of Guelph to programs now reaching more than one million people each year, VWB’s journey has always been about people helping people through animals.

This one-hour virtual gathering is a chance to come together as a community — to look back on 20 years of collaboration, innovation, and impact, and to look ahead to the next chapter of our shared story.

You’ll hear reflections from our founder, meet our new Executive Director, and connect with volunteers from our Northern and international programs who continue to bring One Health to life every day. Whether you’ve been with us since the early days or are only just discovering VWB, this celebration is for you.

A Legacy of One Health in Action

As we celebrate this milestone, we also invite you to revisit the moments that shaped who we are and where we’re going next:

  • 20 Moments in 20 Years: Explore the defining stories and milestones that built the foundation for VWB today.
  • 20th Anniversary Video: See how veterinarians, volunteers, and partners around the world are advancing One Health for animals, people, and the planet.

Looking Forward

VWB’s story has only just begun... With bold new strategies, deeper partnerships, and growing local leadership across our global programs, we’re entering our next decade with renewed purpose. Together, we’re continuing to strengthen animal health systems, protect livelihoods, and build resilient communities around the world.

Join us on December 2 to celebrate 20 years of progress — and raise a virtual toast to the people, programs, and partnerships shaping the next 20! 🥂

Veterinarians Without Borders North America couldn't do the work we do without your support. Whether it's a financial donation or a donation of your time, by improving the health of animals you will be working to improve the health and quality of life for people throughout the world.
