VWB North America launches second Animals & Ales Photo Fundraiser Contest this year, in partnership with 2 Canadian breweries & 4 U.S. breweries

NEW YORK, NY/OTTAWA, ON, August 8, 2025 — Veterinarians Without Borders North America (VWB) is launching its second Animals & Ales Pet Photo Fundraiser Contest of 2025, which will unite pet lovers and craft beer enthusiasts across the U.S. and Canada, while raising funds for animals in need. From August 11 to August 25, 2025, participants are invited to submit photos of their beloved pets for a chance to be featured on exclusive beer labels (and for the first time ever, root beer label) crafted by 6 participating breweries.

This unique contest gives pet owners the chance to showcase their furry, feathered, or finned friends while helping VWB provide essential veterinary care and animal health programs to communities in need worldwide. Every vote makes a difference, with each one representing a $1 donation that directly supports VWB’s life-saving work.

VWB is thrilled to bring back this fun contest for the second time this year. This contest will include an exciting new twist: each brewery will produce three labels each, meaning you will have THREE times the chance for your pet to star on an exclusive brew! Summer is the perfect season for pet guardians to showcase their adorable companions while raising critical funds for animals and communities in need. This contest marks VWB’s fifth Animals and Ales Pet Photo Fundraiser Contest, held in partnership with two breweries in Canada: Leduc Brewing in Leduc, AB and Persephone Brewing in Gibsons, BC, along with four breweries in the U.S.: Hat Trick Brewing in Spokane, WA, The Lone Girl Brewing in Waunakee, WI, Sprecher Brewing in Glendale, WI, and Spyglass Brewing in Nashua, NH.

How to participate:

  • Visit Animals & Ales Canada OR Animals & Ales U.S.
  • Capture a high-quality photo of your pet.
  • Select a participating brewery.
  • Submit your pet's photo through the designated brewery's contest page.
  • Promote your entry to gather votes from friends, family, and the community.
  • The top three pets with the highest votes for each brewery will be immortalized on limited-edition beer (or root beer) labels.

Incentive prizes:

In addition to potentially becoming the star of an exclusive beer label, there are even more great prizes for entrants to unlock when they reach certain fundraising milestones, including:

  • Raise $250-$499 – Receive an Animals & Ales can koozie
  • Raise $500-$749 – Receive an Animals & Ales tote bag

About Veterinarians Without Borders North America/Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Amerique du Nord:
Using a One Health approach, Veterinarians Without Borders (VWB) works for, and with, communities in need to foster the health of animals, people and the environments that sustain us. VWB works in Africa and Asia to improve the living conditions of the most disadvantaged rural populations through veterinary and agricultural services, sustainable animal production, training, value chain development and sustainable natural resource management. Additionally, we support remote Northern communities, including Alaska, to improve animal health through temporary spay and neuter clinics, reduce the spread of rabies, and work to create the conditions for long-term, community-led sustainable animal health services.  We also provide emergency response support to communities following natural disasters and other crises. Learn more at: www.vwb.org
