WATERTOWN, NY, May 31, 2024 - Veterinarians Without Borders North America (VWB) is paws-itively pumped to launch its very first U.S. Animals and Ales Photo Contest, in partnership with five breweries from coast to coast. This includes 902 Brewing Company (Jersey City, NJ), Denali Brewing (Talkeetna, AK), Karben4 Brewing (Madison, WI), Northway Brewing (Queensbury, NY), and Spyglass Brewing Company (Nashua, NH). The online photo contest launches today, Friday, May 31, 2024 at 9:00 am ET, and will run for just over two weeks, ending June 16, 2024. It will allow pet owners (age 21+) from across the U.S. to submit their favourite pet photos for the chance to be featured on labels of limited-release beers at one of the five breweries (one winner per brewery). Contest winners will be determined based on the number of votes for each photo.

“We are so excited to expand our Animals & Ales Photo Contest into the U.S.,” said Charmaine Brett, executive director of VWB. “This has been such a great initiative to run in Canada, and we’ve seen an outpouring of support from pet guardians who – by participating – have helped to provide accessible veterinary care,” she added. “In our most recent Canadian contest this past March, we raised over $104,000 for animals in need, which was absolutely extraordinary,” said Brett. “We’re thrilled to now offer this opportunity to the many animal lovers and beer enthusiasts across the U.S.,” Brett added. “By partnering with these five awesome breweries, we can encourage pet guardians to have some fun showcasing their beloved four-legged best friends, while also helping animals and communities in desperate need of animal care,” Brett added.

Funds raised through VWB’s Animals and Ales contest will go towards helping companion and farm animals, along with pet owners and farmers across the globe. Through VWB’s teams of volunteers and partners, we offer otherwise inaccessible veterinary services, along with capacity-building training.

Full contest details, including how to enter, can be found here. Contest entries open on May 31, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. ET.
