Empowering Livestock Keepers: How and why VWB/VSF is combating Antimicrobial Resistance
VWB/VSF is actively working to mitigate the risks associated with AMR. Our primary focus is on training Community Animal Health Workers (CAHWs).
John is a humanitarian and animal welfare professional with over 19 years of global experience. He specializes in the fields of free-roaming animal management, disaster response, and animal handling and capture. He began his career in 2004, rescuing dogs and building an animal shelter and wildlife sanctuary in Kuwait along with his wife, Ayeshah Al-Humaidhi. They ran the shelter together for 11 years. He has extensive experience in international disaster and cruelty response, as well as free-roaming population management programs. John has also taught animal handling and capture training around the world, with the goal of helping handlers stay safe, effective, and humane in all environments.
In addition to extensive work and personal travel, John enjoys the outdoors, ultra-running, and time spent with family including his wife, two children, dogs, cats, chickens, and cows.
